Geographic Information Systems Fundamentals
This course serves as an optional preliminary course to the Certificate Program in Geographic Information Systems and fulfills prerequisite requirements for the Graduate Program in Strategic Planning for Critical Infrastructures
URBDP 302 Introduces the concepts and skills essential to use a geographic information system (GIS) for spatial analysis and problem-solving. Focus is initially on the use, design and construction of maps. Students complete GIS tasks from data collection and spatial analysis through map production and report generation.
