Description
More and more editors are expected to write and edit Web content. This workshop helps prepare students to edit and write for the Web and use online dictionaries and other resources. The workshop will explore how editing and writing for the Web differs from print, and what makes a good Web site and is strongly recommended for those taking the spring course,
Advanced Editing: Non-Book Publishing in the Editing Certificate Program.
Students will learn:
- The basics of web jargon and HTML (Note: This is NOT a HTML course)
- Useful online resources for editors
- How to use the Web effectively for fact-checking and other editing-related tasks

Instructor

Niquette Kelcher is an editor, writer and producer. She is
currently the managing editor of a Web site that services accounting and
finance professionals. A widely published writer in the accounting
industry and for nonprofits, Kelcher's experience has resulted in a
thorough understanding of online content development and e-newsletter
effectiveness. In addition, Kelcher provides editorial support to
nonprofit organizations in the community. She received a bachelor's
degree in English education from Western Washington University and an
