Mark Pohto

Pohto joined Microsoft's Redmond Platform Services team in 1999. He has worked in IT since 1987 and has a strong passion for leadership and database technologies. He has experience with at least 10 database platforms. At Microsoft he has worked as a Senior DBA in the Database Operations Group and managed the team responsible for application monitoring using Microsoft Operations Manager. As the Group Manager for the Microsoft SQL Server Center of Excellence, Pohto managed the team that developed SQL Server solutions such as the Risk Assessment Program and Service Level Monitoring. Pohto and his team also developed and delivered the SQL Server Microsoft Certified Architect\Master programs. He has taught architecture in programs for Exchange Server, Windows Server and SQL Server. Pohto recently returned to Microsoft IT to lead an IT-wide SQL Server consolidation project.

Buck Woody

Woody has been working with Information Technology since 1981. He has worked for the U.S. Air Force, at an IBM reseller, and for NASA as well as U.S. Space Command as an IT contractor. He has been a DBA and Database Developer on everything from Oracle to SQL Server and DB2 installations. Buck has a business degree and several industry certifications, including MCSE and MCDBA. He is the author of over 400 SQL Server articles and four published SQL Server books. He was awarded the Microsoft MVP Award in 2006 for SQL Server, and has worked at Microsoft in the SQL Server Team. He currently works for Microsoft as the SQL Server Technical Solution Provider for the Pacific Northwest.
