This unique program explores a continuum of forensic inquiries from initial and subsequent crime scene investigation, to evidence examination and analyses, to criminal legal proceedings. Collection of evidence from a wide range of sources and through the use of many different tools and techniques is discussed. Use of case studies demonstrates how forensic science, the laws that govern how evidence is collected and analyzed, and the manner in which expert witnesses are recognized and permitted to testify, all influence the outcomes of investigative and legal processes.
Attorneys, police officers, case workers, public defenders, insurance investigators, authors, physicians, nurses, and private investigators, as well as those interested in exploring a future career as a forensic scientist or analyst, benefit from this program.
