In response to the explosive growth of biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies in Washington state, the UW Department of Bioengineering has developed a Basic Bioscience Certificate Program. Overseen by an advisory board composed of local industry leaders and distinguished UW faculty, this program introduces the core disciplines in drug discovery and development. Topics cover an introduction to pharmaceutics, molecular biology, experimental design, statistics, biochemistry, molecular genetics, drug discovery and translational science.
