Investigate the core disciplines involved in drug design, discovery, and development. Examine the molecular structure-function relationship and discover how to use proteins, peptides, and DNA for drug therapies, bioanalytics, diagnostics, and biomaterial development.
This program is offered in an online + classroom format, a blend of in-person lecture and online learning.
What the Program Covers
- Pharmaceutics, molecular biology, experimental design, statistics, biochemistry, molecular genetics, drug discovery, and translational science
- The fundamental molecular processes in organisms
- Current topics in pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, including the transformation of small molecules, proteins, and genes into therapeutic products
- Survey of the key processes and departments fundamental to the effective development of products at large and small pharmaceutical and biotech companies
- Biostatistical concepts necessary for the interpretation, evaluation, and communication of biomedical research
Benefits
Your knowledge of the development and manufacture of effective drugs and the various scientific disciplines involved will make you more effective in the work place. You will gain an understanding of the unique influences that biological molecules have on biotechnologies. Upon completion, you will earn up to 12 graduate level credits.
Who Should Apply
Level: Some Experience
