Tim Grey
Author and Digital Imaging Expert

Grey is regarded as one of the top educators in digital photography and imaging, offering clear guidance on complex subjects through his writing and speaking. He loves learning as much as he possibly can about digital imaging, and he loves sharing that information even more. Tim has written more than a dozen books on digital imaging for photographers, including the best-selling Photoshop CS4 Workflow and Color Confidence. He has also had hundreds of articles published in magazines such as Digital Photo Pro, Outdoor Photographer, and PC Photo, among others. He publishes the Digital Darkroom Questions email newsletter, as well as the Digital Darkroom Quarterly print newsletter. Tim teaches through workshops, seminars, and appearances at major events. He is a member of the Photoshop World Dream Team of Instructors.

Doug Manelski

Originally from Bethesda, MD, Doug has lived in Seattle since 1992. Since receiving his BFA in photography from The University of Dayton & his MFA in photography from Ohio University, Doug has worked in many areas of the arts. He worked for 15 years in the traditional craft of gilding, creating custom picture frames that hang in collections and museums across the northwest. Embracing new technologies, Doug turned his attention to digital media in 1998 starting to photograph digitally in 2000. By 2003 Doug was helping other photographers make the inevitable migration to digital. This specialization led him to the University of Washington where he works in the School of Art. Doug runs digital imaging workshops, helps faculty, staff and students with IT issues and has overseen the building and maintenance of the School of Art website.

Ric Peterson

Peterson began his professional career as a photographer initially shooting weddings and portraits putting himself through college. He opened his first commercial studio in 1984 in Minneapolis, MN and had studios in San Francisco, Portland, and Seattle. For fourteen years he held the position of Director of Photography and Director of Operations for two firms managing the photography, graphic design, and photo lab operations. Ric is a photographer with an MBA teaching business, strategy, and marketing in addition to advanced digital imaging. He photographs people, products and places for advertising, editorial, commercial and fine art clients. He lives on Vashon Island with his wife and two children.
